Sipirok

Sipirok is located along the road between Tarutung and Padang Sidempuan and is around 40 km from Padang Sidempuan. It is an old town with cold weather and surrounded by mountains.

Around this town there are some interesting tourists attractions such as:

  • Marsabut Lake
It is 14 km from Sipirok and has cold and fresh air and crystal clear water. The rivers are nicely surrounded by original green forests. There are some small paths to the lake as well as some shelters. Motorcycles are generally used as land transport to the lake.

  • Huta Suhut
This village is popular for its handmade souvenirs specific to south Tapanuli such as plaited mats, ulos (traditional woven Batak cloth) and wedding accessories.

  • Haritte Hot-spring
It is located 8 km from Sipirok. The water comes from mount Sibual-buali. This area can be easily reached by walking through the ascending footpath from Torsibohi Hotel. It only takes about 20 minutes from the hotel.

  • Dolok Simago-mago
It is situated about 6 km from Sipirok heading to Padang Sidempuan. One can see and enjoy the scenic view of Sipirok town and its surroundings from the top of the hill. Tosibohi Hotel has been established here and decorated with attractive traditional south Tapanuli motifs.
